How can I make an appointment?
You can make an appointment by having your medical doctor, case manager or other representative contact our office with a referral or you can call our office directly at any time at (204) 571-7181 to make an appointment for yourself. If we are unable to take your call please feel free to leave a message on our confidential voicemail and we will be sure to return your call within one business day.
How much does a session cost?
Regular appointments are made on an hourly basis. As of January 1, 2017, Dr. Yury’s fee is $180 per hour. Cognitive and other diagnostic testing often takes 2-3 hours to complete.
Are sessions covered by my insurance?
Dr. Yury is a fully registered clinical psychologist. As such, at least partial coverage tends to be included in most extended health benefits plans. However, each plan is different and each insurance carrier is different. We are more than happy to help you determine your individual coverage. If you have any insurance questions before or after seeing Dr. Yury please feel free to give us a call at (204) 571-7181.
Is there a fee for missed appointments?
Yes. We do need at least 24 hours notice if you need to change or cancel an appointment. Without proper notice there is a one-time no-show fee of 50% of the regular appointment cost. Any subsequent missed appointments will be charged at the full rate. It is also important to note that no-show fees are rarely covered by insurance or other providers.
Do I need to wait long for an appointment?
Availability for new appointments differs throughout the year. Please call our office to inquire about wait times.
Can I make an appointment for my child?
At this time Dr. Yury or our psychometrist Jessica Boutilier (MA School Psychology, Mount Saint Vincent University) do not specialize in child or adolescent psychology and do not offer individual therapy for those under the age of 17. If you are looking for a psychologist who specializes in child psychology please consider following the link on our Resources page to the Psychological Association of Manitoba’s website. The registrant search on this site should provide you with a list of psychologists in the region who specialize in this area.
